Pakistan's Finance minister and his assistant loses temper after they are teased by Pakistanis at an airport in the United States

Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Finance Minister, was heckled and jeered by Pakistanis living in Washington D.C. on October 13th, 2022. A crowd of angry, anguished, and frustrated people shouted slogans of ‘Chor Chor’ at the airport, which led to a verbal altercation between the crowd and the Minister’s supporters.

Pakistan’s FM is in the USA for the annual meetings of the IMF and World Bank. Pakistani officials, ministers, secretaries, and Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States accompanied him.

This is, however, not the first time a Pakistani minister has been jeered in public while travelling overseas or within the country. Marriyum Aurangzeb, the Information Minister, was heckled at a coffee shop in London last month. Earlier, PTI supporters harassed Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal in a restaurant.

During a three-day visit to Saudi Arabia in April, a group of Pakistani pilgrims assaulted, heckled, and yelled slogans against PM Shehbaz and his entourage at the Masjid-i-Nabwi in Madina.
